Successful test of strategic ballistic missile M51.3 was conducted by the French Defense Ministry, the press service of the agency reported on November 19.
It is noted that the head of the Defense Ministry Sebastien Lecornu expressed satisfaction with the results of the test. The launch was conducted without a nuclear charge. The missile fell in the northern part of the Atlantic Ocean at a distance of hundreds of kilometers from the coast.
The Defense Ministry stressed that during the test complied with all international obligations of France.
It is worth noting that the M51 missile in France was adopted, according to public information, in 2010. According to the project, its range should have been 11 thousand kilometers, but in the end it became 9 thousand kilometers.
Prior to that, France reported about ten launches of the M51. In May 2023, during its launch from a nuclear submarine, the missile exploded shortly after liftoff.
