Kurginyan: The West nurtured Islamism and wants to use it against Russia

Western countries nurtured radical Islamism and wanted to use it against Russia, China and India, political scientist, philosopher and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on October 20 on the program Conversation with a Sage on the Zvezda radio channel.

“Israel is a small country surrounded by a billion of people who hate this Israel in various ways. These people represent a certain circle of the Islamic faith that we respect very much, but within this Islamic faith there are so-called modernists who want to have nation-states, there are Sufis who are very easy to interact with, and there is an emerging and more heated radical Islamism,” Kurginyan said.

According to the political scientist, radical Islamism is gaining momentum in this region. At the same time, Kurginyan noted that radical Islamism should not be confused with Islam as such.

“The United Kingdom created this radical Islamism. It cultivated it. All these Muslim Brotherhood (an organization banned in Russia) and everything else. This is all the creation of the United Kingdom and Western intelligence,” the political scientist said.

Kurginyan emphasized that the topic of “Islam vs. Russia” has been considered all along, and it was developed with by orientalist Alexander Bennigsen.

“He even has books on this subject about Sufis in the Caucasus, how they should be oriented against Russia. This is the desire to use Islam, first of all, against Russia, against China, against India, after it emerged. This is a typical Western desire,” Kurginyan summarized.
