China’s Premier urges Shanghai Cooperation Organisation countries to jointly resist external interference

Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries should jointly fight external interference, Premier of the People’s Republic of China Li Qiang said at a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the SCO member states on October 26.

“We should jointly build a strong regional security barrier, resolutely oppose external interference and bloc confrontation,” TASS quoted Li Qiang as saying.

According to the politician, several tasks should be accomplished as soon as possible. First, improve the mechanism for responding to security threats and challenges. Second, to fight transnational organized crime and the “three forces of evil: terrorism, separatism and extremism.”

The 22nd meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the SCO member states opened today in the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek. The meeting is attended by the prime ministers of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Mongolia, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the foreign ministers of India and Pakistan, the first vice-president of Iran, as well as the vice-premier of Turkmenistan.
