Mao Ning, an official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, demanded the adviser to the head of the Ukrainian president’s office Mykhail Podolyak to explain his statement about the low intellectual potential of India and China on September 13, commenting on the adviser’s statement at a briefing.
“I do not know the background of this person’s statements, he should make clarifications,” Mao said.
She emphasized that China has always taken a responsible stance on the Ukraine crisis. Beijing has called for a ceasefire and negotiations, and advocated seeking a diplomatic solution to the conflict.
The relevant officials should take the right attitude to such behavior, Mao noted.
On September 12, Podolyak’s interview was published. In it, he said that India and China have a low intellectual level and are unable to predict the consequences of their actions.
Also Podolyak spoke negatively about Turkey.
