Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitriy Kuleba has made an undiplomatic comment on his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock during a joint press conference. Die Zeit wrote on September 11.
“You’re going to do it anyway. I don’t understand why we are wasting time,” Kuleba said, commenting on Berlin’s refusal to supply Kiev with Taurus cruise missiles.
In turn, the head of the German Foreign Ministry explained that Berlin fears the strikes deep into the territory of Russia, which of the Ukrainian armed units might deliver.
“We are more than aware of the situation, but first we will clarify all questions,” Baerbock said in response to Kuleba.
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock arrived in Kiev on an unannounced visit on September 11. According to official reports, this was done for security reasons.
Upon her arrival in Kiev, Baerbock made a statement that Germany would support Kiev on its path to the EU. However, Ukraine still has to implement a number of reforms on this path.
