The Ukrainian army is amassing forces near Artyomovsk, a scout of the Northern Fleet’s 200th Independent Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade, brought into the Army Group Yug, told RIA Novosti on September 7.
“A very large number of rotations are taking place near Chasov Yar,” the serviceman told reporters about the Ukrainian armed units’ actions.
He said that the enemy is also conducting rotations in neighboring Bogdanovka. They bring ammunition there, using small vehicles to make it harder for artillery to hit them.
It is reported that Russian units are in full control of the Berkhovskoye water reservoir area, as well as the approaches to it.
The day before, the commander of the Ukrainian ground forces, Colonel-General Aleksandr Syrsky, said that fierce fighting was taking place in the Artyomovsk direction. He also said that the situation on the eastern section of the front remained difficult for the Ukrainian army, as Russian troops were seeking to liberate the entire territory of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.
