The experience of the Ukrainian terrorist attack on the Belgorod region should be used to eliminate flaws in the defense formation of the Russian territory, according to a summary from the war theater of the Essence of Time newspaper No. 536.
Ukrainian Telegram channel “ZeRada” analyzed a sabotage operation by Ukrainian terrorists in the Belgorod region, carried out in late May.
The channel described the preparation of the operation, its implementation, and noted the problems that prevented the Russian military from quickly and effectively mopping up the Ukrainian sabotage-recon group.
The channel stressed that the main goal of the operation was informational and psychological – to switch the attention of Ukrainians after the loss of Artemovsk (Bakhmut) and cause panic among Russians.
It is noted that the first task was accomplished – everyone “forgot” about Bakhmut and is talking about the Belgorod Region. But they failed to cause panic in Russia.
“The ‘pretty image’ has cost the Ukrainian army a lot, and the necessary psychological impact on Russian society has not been achieved. In addition, mistakes in the shaping of our defense have been revealed, which must be promptly eliminated,” reads the editorial commentary of the Essence of Time newspaper.
