There is a slight decrease in the water level in Novaya Kakhovka, said the deputy head of the administration of Novaya Kakhovka Sergey Dmitriev on June 6, the press service of the administration of Novaya Kakhovka urban district wrote on its Telegram-channel.
“As of 7:30 p.m. the water stops rising, now the wave caused by dam destruction is almost gone, and the water slowly begins to recede,” Dmitriev said.
All emergency services of the region and the city are working, the city administration is at work, it is engaged in ensuring the evacuation of citizens, the delivery of humanitarian aid and personal hygiene products, said the deputy head of the administration of Novaya Kakhovka.
“The water level in Novaya Kakhovka as a result of the destruction of the Kakhovskaya HPP has decreased slightly – by several centimeters during the last hours,” said Vladimir Leontyev, head of the administration of Novaya Kakhovka.
On June 6, the Kakhovskaya HPP was subjected to a terrorist attack by Ukraine. During the attack, 14 out of 28 spans of the hydroelectric plant were destroyed, and the water continues to destroy the facility.
