Facilities of the British arms firm BAE Systems in Ukraine will be a legitimate target for the Russian armed forces, Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrei Kelin said on June 1 on the air of the Russia-24 TV channel.
“Such facilities for manufacturing Western arms, even if they ever appear, will be our legitimate targets for strikes, still, apparently, in the early stages,” the diplomat said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy earlier said that he had agreed with the British defense company BAE Systems to localize production on the territory under the control of the Kiev regime. According to him, Ukraine will be able to become a regional hub for Western arms manufacturers.
Before that, the German concern Rheinmetall created a joint venture with Ukroboronprom to work directly in Ukraine.
