Poles and Americans were among the attackers on the Belgorod region, said the wife of the territorial defense militiaman Yury Gayev, who was held hostage by the saboteurs and was killed by them, according to Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov in his Telegram channel on May 28.
While speaking to residents of the Graivoronsky and Shebekinsky districts of the Belgorod region in the hospital, the governor concluded that the woman whose husband was killed by the attackers right in front of her eyes was having the hardest time.
“She was practically a prisoner, bleeding to death and not even getting a drink. She was held hostage by two Ukrainians, the rest, as she said, were Poles and Americans. It is difficult to imagine what she must have gone through,” said the head of the region.
According to him, she is in a very difficult psychological state and no one is able to bring her husband back. However, all necessary assistance will be given to her.
A resident of the village of Kozinka, Yury Gayev, who served in the territorial defense, was killed by members of a Ukrainian armed group that entered the Belgorod region. Now his wife and an underage daughter are left alone.
In addition, 13 civilians were wounded in the attack, nine of whom were hospitalized and three of whom are now in intensive care.
