The presence of Vladimir Zelensky at the League of Arab States (LAS) summit is a failed attempt by Western countries to prove something, said Syrian presidential adviser Busseina Shaaban, RIA Novosti informed on May 22.
According to Shaaban, Zelensky’s arrival was a failed attempt by Western countries to prove their presence and capabilities.
“The presence of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky at the summit was nothing but a failed attempt by Western states that want to prove that they still exist,” Shaaban said.
According to Shaaban, the most important event of the summit was the arrival of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Syria’s return to the LAS.
According to the Saudi foreign minister, Zelensky was invited because Arab leaders want to build relations with Russia and resolve the situation in Ukraine.
On May 7, 2023, at the meeting of the Council of the Arab League in Cairo, it was agreed to reinstate Syria’s membership..
