Russian Air Forces shoot down the planes that fired Storm Shadow missiles at Lugansk

13.05.2023, Moscow.

Russian military shot down two Ukrainian planes that fired UK missiles at Lugansk, the Defense Ministry’s press service reported on May 13.

“The Russian Air Forces fighter aviation shot down the Su-24 plane that was carrying out a missile strike on Lugansk and the Mig-29 fighter of the Ukrainian air force that was covering it,” the statement reads.

The ministry said that the Ukrainian planes struck the plant “Polipak” and the meat processing plant “Milam” in Lugansk with the use of British Storm Shadow aircraft missiles. This was done despite London’s statement that these weapons would not be used against civilian objects.

As a result of the strikes, fires broke out at enterprises and residential buildings were also damaged. There were casualties, including six children.
