On May 9, a memorial meeting was held in Treptow Park in Berlin, and flowers were laid at the foot of the monument to the Soldier-Liberator.
Russian and foreign diplomats, as well as hundreds of Berliners, participated in the event in honor of Victory Day.
“We are grateful for the solidarity of the many people who celebrate this day with tears in their eyes,” Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergey Nechaev told the audience.
