The situation that has formed in Russia is extremely complicated, but it is not as bad as alleged by those who love to savor negative issues, said philosopher, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan in an interview to the Metametrica channel published on March 25.
According to Kurginyan, if the situation had been as bad as some people say, our army would not have been able to hold the line and to be on the offensive.
“It would be a mistake to say that everything consists of some junk. The point is not that it would be politically incorrect, but that it would be unfair,” he stressed.
He noted that people’s behavior indicated that there are patriots in the country.
“There are colonels and generals who are faithful in their combat and who have certain competence. There is certain intelligentsia who nevertheless do not say ‘let it all crash immediately for us to be conquered by the US,’ but who say something else,” Kurginyan explained.
As am example, the political scientist referred to a conversation he had with a general who told about his son, who had “quite an experience” in the GRU special operations forces, and who reached the colonel rank and the Hero of Russia award. According to the general, once he suggested that his well-seen son should go to work for someone else for a 25-30 times higher salary and to make his life more comfortable, and the generals’ son replied, “Dad, the hell with them!”
According to Kurginyan, a complex heterogeneous society has formed in Russia, in which there are many things. The political scientist also noted that the system that President of Russia Vladimir Putin has built after the collapse of the Soviet system has stood the pressure of the special operation in spite of the quality of the material it was made from.
Kurginyan stressed, however, that it would be equally wrong to believe that everything is fine in Russia: the reality is much more complex, and the situation is really far from being simple.
