Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket launches a military satellite into space

A light-class Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket launched from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome successfully launched a satellite for the needs of the Russian military department, the Russian Defense Ministry informed on March 29.

The USSR launched the first space satellite on October 4, 1957. The USSR was the leader in the space industry. The collapse of the Soviet Union led to a decline in this area. Now one of the leaders in the space industry is China, which from 1990 to 2012 launched 43 satellites into orbit.
