Militants of the terrorist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (organization banned in Russia) tried to break into the territory which is under the control of government forces in Aleppo province, said Rear Admiral Oleg Gurinov, deputy head of the Russian Centre for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria.
“In Aleppo province, near the village of Urum al-Sugra, militants of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham terrorist group (organization banned in Russia) attempted to break into the territory under the control of government forces,” Gurinov said.
Gurinov specified that one Syrian serviceman was killed and six were wounded as a result of repulsion of the militants’ attack by the government forces.
At the same time, the government forces eliminated nine militants, he said. Gurinov stressed that over the past 24 hours, no ceasefire violations by the militants were reported.
