Russian Embassy in USA comments on the leaks on the explosion of Nord Stream pipelines

08.03.2023, Washington

Leaks to The New York Times about the gas pipeline sabotage being carried out by a “pro-Ukrainian group” are an attempt to distract attention from those who gave the order to commit sabotage, Andrey Ledenev, the Russian embassy’s counselor in the United States, wrote on March 8 on the embassy’s Telegram channel.

“We have and never had any faith in the ‘impartiality’ of the conclusions of US intelligence agencies. We consider the anonymous ‘leaks’ as nothing more than an attempt to confuse those who are sincerely trying to get to the bottom of this egregious crime. To shift the suspicion from state officials, who ordered and coordinated the attacks in the Baltic Sea, to some abstract individuals,” Ledenev said.

It is also noted that US officials, as well as the US press, hushed up the resonant material of Seymour Hersh about the fact that the blowing-up of the lines was organized by the US divers with the participation of Norway.
