Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro called on citizens to unite in support of their leaders to strengthen social power in the country, Últimas Noticias wrote on March 5.

Maduro spoke during the closing of the World Meeting for the Relevance of Bolivarian Thought of Comandante Chavez in the XXI century, held in the Rios Reina Hall of the Teresa Carreño Theater in Caracas.

He warned the Venezuelan people about the claims of some divisive groups that “seek to take advantage of difficulties, confuse and divide the people.”

“People must say very clearly ‘No’ to the forces of decay, ‘No’ to the forces of division wherever they arise, and take care to unite people politically and ideologically at the grassroots level,” Maduro said.

He stressed that the method is to “support leaders” and develop a deep social force in the 46,000 community councils and 4,500 communes created in the country.
