Russian Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov has made comments regarding the news that Washington will send another package of military assistance to Ukraine, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s press service reported on March 3.
“The threat it poses will be pushed away to a save distance from our borders, and all imported weapons that fall into Ukrainian hands on the battlefield will be demolished and destroyed,” said Antonov.
He noted that the Russian Armed Forces are protecting their country from an unprecedented threat, fighting against the Nazis, who were produced in Ukraine with the help from the collective West, under the US leadership.
“All Washington’s efforts aimed at inflicting a strategic defeat to us are doomed to failure,” added Antonov.
On February 28, Yuri Khokhlov, the head of the department for supervision over the implementation of laws on federal security, interethnic relations, countering extremism and terrorism of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, said that responsibility for Russophobia in Western countries should be tightened.
Khokhlov noted that the Prosecutor General’s Office has the right to hold accountable for Russophobia, but in the West it has reached such a scale that responsibility needs to be tightened. It is proposed to equate Russophobia, expressed in relation to the country or citizens of Russia, with extremism.
