Rallies against arms supplies to Ukraine in Europe will not yield results, Timofey Bordachev, research supervisor at the Center for Complex European and International Studies, Faculty of World Economy and Politics, National Research University Higher School of Economics, said on February 26, RIA Novosti informed.
“This simultaneously reflects the public sentiment in Europe and at the same time reflects how much European elites do not pay attention to the opinion of their own citizens,” Bordachev said.
In his opinion, the situation with arms deliveries to the Kiev regime will not change fundamentally. There are no political forces that could lead such a movement in Europe.
“They don’t give a damn about the opinion of the population, and there are no parties that could lead such a movement against, there are no such political parties,” the expert noted.
According to Bordachev, about 46% of the German population is against military aid to Ukraine. However, this opinion will be ignored, “because the party systems are destroyed.” According to the expert, this is generally relevant for the whole of Europe – the same thing is happening in France and Belgium.
Earlier, rallies against arms supplies to Ukraine were held in EU countries. Actions took place in Germany, Italy and France. For example, according to various estimates, from 13,000 to 50,000 people came out to protest in Berlin.
