Kurginyan explains why the publication about Nord Stream explosion was a leak

When American journalist Seymour Hersh published the investigation results alleging that the the US was responsible for blowing up the Nord Stream pipeline, it was a leak of secret information by the security services, said philosopher, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on February 15 in an interview to the ONT Belarusian channel.

The host asked the political scientist whether the information that Hersh published could make any difference taking into account that the Western media openly ignore this sensational publication.

Sergey Kurginyan noted that there are some really talented journalists, and that a investigative journalist is worth ten perfectly trained spies.

In one case of a hundred, it is a talent – a peculiar, always somewhat odd – to find out things like this. This is a very important kind of a figure, but Hersh, however, is not of that kind,” the political scientist said. “These were leaks!”

He explained that these kinds of events involve journalists with certain experience, authority, and relevant reputation, who are provided with this information to present it. “And this has always been this way. Throughout the 20th century, and beyond,” the philosopher noted.

Therefore, the point here is who leaked to Hersh the information that he published. “Those who leaked it apparently want something. What do they want? This is the key point in this issue,” Kurginyan stressed.

The political scientist noted that, of course, everyone in the West will turn a blind eye to the published information, and they will express indignation. But Hersh should not be perceived the same way as Julian Assange.

He [Hersh] is not a suicide. He belongs to the elite. He is a respectable person. Had he known he would face persecution he would not have done this, the political scientist explained.

Kurginyan told that in the Soviet period a top official of the Pravda newspaper told him, “We are not a ‘Country Life’ magazine. We receive no directives. We are trend-controlled.” This means that the editors had to figure out what they should publish and what they should not, and this is what trend-controlled means, the philosopher explained.

In this sense, Hersh is trend-controlled. He understands what is allowed and what is not.

This means that made a cold-minded estimation, he talked to inconspicuous ‘grayish-faced’ men, I think not only from the CIA but from more powerful agencies, there are more powerful ones. He understood that it is allowed, he received the material, he checked it, and he leaked it after certain literary adaptation,” the political scientist explained.

This is what a Pulitzer Prize can be awarded for, not for something else. For something else, one can get a bullet in his head, quickly. Even a president, to say nothing of a journalist,” the leader of the Essence of Time movement concluded.
