Developers of the Center of Competence for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in Novosibirsk created a prototype of a compact unmanned aerial vehicle Shmel, the head of the center Denis Kotin said on February 7 at a meeting with journalists.

“Our development is still at the prototype level. This is a microdrone, which we called Shmel [English: Bumblebee – translator’s note],” he said. According to Kotin, the analog of the developed drone is the British development of Black Hawk.

The domestic device has weight of 85 grams, a speed of 25 kilometers per hour, and a range of movement of up to two kilometers. The drone has a video camera that transmits images in real-time.
