07.02.2023, Moscow.

Russia increased production of high-precision guided artillery shells Krasnopol several times in 2022, RIA Novosti reported on February 7.

According to the report, the Krasnopol shells have a caliber of 152mm and are used in artillery howitzers. The shells are capable of hitting moving targets.

The shells are capable to destroy US Abrams tanks and German Leopard tanks. In 2023, it is planned to continue increasing the production capacity of the projectiles.

Krasnopol uses a semi-active laser-guided head, due to which the deviation from the target does not exceed two meters. The range of the projectile is up to 25 km.

The projectile is guided by drones with laser rangefinders or ground laser designators.
