Ukraine should join the European Union and NATO in the future. The new Czech President Petr Pavel said this on February 1 in an interview with the Czech newspaper Blesk.
According to Pavel, he intends to take part in the upcoming NATO summit, where he will definitely advocate for Ukraine’s accession to the alliance.
“My opinion is that in future Ukraine should be part of both NATO and the European Union,” he said, answering journalists’ questions.
Pavel also spoke about his planned trip to Slovakia, which will be the first of his trips outside the Czech Republic in the position of president.
Afterwards, together with the president of Slovakia, Pavel intends to make a visit to Ukraine to express his support.
