Danish military expert: Russia should never be underestimated

25.01.2023, Kopenhagen.

Kristian Lindhardt, analyst at the Danish Military Academy, predicted a full-scale Russian offensive in Ukraine, Danish news agency Nyheder.DR reported on January 24.

“It would be a mistake to think that the Russians are easy to defeat. And Kiev should be an obvious target for a Russian major offensive. If Russia takes Kiev, it will take a good step toward victory. It is in Kiev that all of Ukraine’s central administration and headquarters are located,” the military analyst commented on the situation in Ukraine.

The specialist explained that Russia has at least 150,000 soldiers out of 300,000 mobilized, who are waiting for their time and have not yet been to the front, but they have had four months to train. According to the expert, we should expect that these soldiers “are of a completely different quality than the forces the Ukrainians fought with before,” as they are well-trained and equipped.

Kristian Lindhardt also stressed that Russia should never be underestimated. According to the expert, although things went absolutely bad for Russia near Kharkov, but “one cannot expect that one can easily deal with these Russians,” because that would be a “huge mistake.”

The expert also assured that the expected full-scale offensive of Russian troops would not be the only one, and in the future “the Russians may have as many offensive operations as they [Russians – Rossa Primavera News Agency‘s commnet] want.”

Earlier, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said that Ukraine’s military intelligence service observed the regrouping of Russian troops for a major offensive. According to Vadim Skibitsky, representative of the main intelligence directorate of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, an offensive operation by Russian troops will take place in the spring or summer of 2023.
