Acting DPR head confirms the liberation of a strategically important village near Donetsk

Russian troops dislodged the Ukrainian armed units from the Verkhneye Vodyanoe village near Donetsk, opening the way for a further offensive, the acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Denis Pushylin wrote on his Telegram channel on January 16.

“Verkhneye Vodyanoye (a village north of Peski) is under our control. We can now say that in the very near future we will see the liberation of new villages,” Pushilin noted.

The military gave Verkhneye Vodyanoy an important role in the liberation of DPR territory near Donetsk.
