Russian Presidential Press Secretary: Arms supplies to Ukraine won’t change anything

09.01.2023, Moscow.

The increased supplies of arms to Kiev from the US and its allies will not be able to fundamentally change anything and disrupt the achievement of the goals set for the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine, said Dmitry Peskov, Russian Presidential Press Secretary, on January 9 during a meeting with journalists.

The US, its NATO allies and other European countries have supplied Kiev with billions of dollars worth of weapons, noted the Press Secretary.

“These deliveries can add pain to the Ukrainian people, prolong their suffering. But they cannot fundamentally change anything. And these supplies are not capable of disrupting the achievement of the goals of the special military operation,” said Peskov.

On January 6, Washington announced the allocation of another package of military assistance to Ukraine, the amount of which is more than $3 billion. As part of this package, armored vehicles, Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, self-propelled howitzers, as well as various ammunition and missiles, including for the HIMARS MLRS, will be delivered to Ukraine.
