Kurginyan: Even the most brilliant military leader cannot win without ammunition

The army cannot win even with the most brilliant military leader if it is not supplied with ammunition, said philosopher, analyst, and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on the air of the Conversation with a Sage program on Radio Zvezda.

Kurginyan stressed that the army is not self-sufficient, it cannot exist without ammunition and guns that are produced elsewhere. And in order to manufacture ammunition and weapons in the quantities necessary for successful special operations, it is necessary for the country to have an industry, the military-industrial complex (MIC).

It [the army] is huge, and it needs help to do what it can <…> even if you put a genius – a genius! – I don’t know… Napoleon Bonaparte at the head of the army, and ammunition is not supplied, then at best he will die in a bayonet attack against a HIMARS battery, that would shoot him from a hundred kilometers away,” Kurginyan said.

I’m not saying there are no supplies at all. There are. But I am saying that they are not enough, I am saying that the Soviet stocks, the Soviet heritage will be spent, and the real volume of the military-industrial complex has not been planned to produce as much ammunition as it turned out to be needed. And moreover, the production should be self-sufficiency,” he added.

The real volume of Russian industry and the Russian military-industrial complex is not designed for the amount of ammunition and weapons needed to fight and win in a special operation. Culture, society, social life, and people have not been forged for fighting and winning, but have been prepared for the semi-sleepy life of a consumer society.

Therefore, Kurginyan is convinced, it is not possible to win only by means of the existing industry, military-industrial complex, and society. This is why it is necessary – without ruining what we have – to start thinking about how to do something different. Firstly, however, we must tell society the “strategic” truth.

So, tell the truth, tell the truth that these challenges were not expected, no one prepared for them. Tell the truth about the fact that there were illusions about what kind of life you can live, tell people all this strategic truth and say: ‘People, wake up! Civil society, wake up! The system, wake up! Disaster has come, get ready!’” declared Kurginyan.

Let’s roll up our sleeves and not discuss manicures all the time anymore, let’s discuss the essence of the matter: how many factories should be built, what the zero cycles should be, when, and what are the most acute problems?” – he urged.
