The US supply of weapons to Kiev, especially if Washington sends Patriot SAMs there, provokes an open conflict between Russia and NATO, First Deputy Chairman of the International Committee of the Russian Council of the Federation Vladimir Dzhabarov said, RIA Novosti reported on December 14.
“The US is provoking us into a direct conflict with NATO. The US will provoke a direct conflict with NATO, especially if it deploys Patriot missile systems. You understand what kind of threat this presents,” he said.
Earlier, it was reported that the US is going to announce the transfer of Patriot SAMs to the Kiev authorities in the near future.
Earlier, German Defense Minister Christina Lambrecht suggested that Warsaw should be secured with Patriot SAMs. In response, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak suggested deploying the systems on Ukraine’s western border. However, Germany FRG stressed that they do not transfer the weapons to the conflict zones.
