A center to repair and maintain German military equipment transferred to the Ukrainian armed units was opened in Slovakia, German General Christian Freuding said during a visit to Slovakia, the Slovak news agency TASR reported on December 12.

The center is located near the town of Michalovce, located in the east of the country, 30 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.

Freuding said the center’s work would be an “important contribution” to support Ukraine.

“Thanks to the center, we can contribute to ensuring that the transferred and successfully deployed German weapons systems are still ready for use,” the general added.

Germany earlier transferred 14 PzH 2000 self-propelled artillery systems of 155 mm caliber, five MARS II multiple rocket launchers and other armaments to Ukraine.
