The Great October Socialist Revolution Day is a holiday of the future, not the past, said First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Belarusian Communist Party (CPB) Aleksey Sokol, BelTA informs.

The CPB representative spoke at a wreath-laying ceremony at the monument to Vladimir Lenin in Minsk, which was held during the celebration of the 105th anniversary of the revolution. Sokol noted that the event that occurred in Russia in October 1917 opened an era in the history of all mankind and revealed the creative abilities of the people.

In 1917 our homeland opened up a new world, when labor, not capital, ruled. Lenin’s five slogans are still very relevant today. He offered peace to the peoples, bread to the hungry, land to the peasants, factories to the workers, and the power to the Soviets. The October Revolution is associated with numerous victories, achievements and labor achievements of the Belarusian people, which continue to be the subject of our pride,” said Sokol.

He added that thanks to the October Revolution, the Belarusians were able to create a national state, preserved and multiplied the national culture.

I am deeply convinced that the future of our planet is with socialism. The truth of life is behind us, the great logic of history is behind us. The Great October holiday is not a holiday of the past, but of the future, and its light is directed into tomorrow,” Sokol said.

On November 7, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated Belarusians on the holiday. He stated that the ideas underlying the October socialist revolution were a real alternative to the colonial policy of capitalism. The Belarusian leader noted that the Great October Socialist Revolution embodied the dream of millions of people about creating a fair society based on the principles of democracy and humanism.

The head of state noted that Belarus not only preserved the achievements of the Soviet period, but even multiplied them after gaining its sovereignty. The President stressed that the memory of the events and heroes of the past has been preserved in the country. It helps to overcome the challenges that people face in the present and allows them to build a solid foundation for the future.

We should note that according to the tradition preserved since Soviet times, new objects from kindergartens to large industrial enterprises are opened every year by November 7.
