Erdogan promised to donate Russian grain to starving countries in Africa

04.11.2022, Istanbul.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan have agreed to donate Russian grain to starving countries in Africa, the Turkish newspaper Hürriyet reported on November 4.

“Putin told me, ‘Let us send this grain to these (poor African) countries for free.’ We agreed,” Erdogan said, thus rebuking the West, which the Turkish leader said was being taught a lesson in humanity.

He also said Europe, which considers itself a “tended garden”, has arrogantly disdained the “wild meadows” that are the rest of the world. According to the Turkish leader, this distorted picture of the world has led the world to disaster.
