The political and military authorities must learn from their mistakes in the special operation, said political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on October 17 in the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov TV program on the Russia One channel.
“The worst we can do now is throw ashes upon our head, speculate on the exiting drawbacks, and interpret the situation as a total disaster,” Kurginyan noted.
According to the political scientist, it would be unfair to say that all the young Russian men have fled to Kazakhstan, all our officers are drunken cowards, and our generals are idiots.
“However, questions still arise,” Kurginyan said. “They said we would enter Kiev shortly. Then they said we would be constantly on offensive. Now we are in a quite a passive defense, and we are happy when we do not lose more territories. Some part of the territory has been lost. And everyone can see this!”
Even the most correct report of Russia’s actual positive success will not convince those who can see all the mentioned drawbacks, the analyst noted.
In Russia today, we cannot turn to the censorship of Stalin’s era, and people in any event will discuss everything that is taking place, Kurginyan believes. Thus, an alternative information environment can appear, which will promote the negative aspect.
“The following can take place: all the negative images will coalesce into a totally false negative image. This image will be absolutely false. But this image will be used to undermine the positive image,” Kurginyan said.
False ideas include the idea that mistakes must never be recognized. Kurginyan referred to Joseph Stalin’s article Dizzy from Success where he openly discussed major mistakes of the collectivization. After that, no one stopped the collectivization, it was completed and transformed into industrialization.
“Of course, the point is how we manage our mistakes. If they become our weak spots like ‘do not rub salt into my wound’ then it is terrible, But, first, someone will always do that. And secondly, why should it necessarily be so?” the leader of Essence of Time concluded.
