FSB identifies organizer of terrorist attack on Crimean bridge

The organizer of the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge turned out to be the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, the Center for Public Relations of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said on October 12.

The FSB established that the organizer of the terrorist attack was the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s GUR, its head Kirill Budanov, as well as employees and agents.

The explosive device, weighing almost 23 tons, was shipped from Ukraine in early August 2022 from the port of Odessa to Bulgaria under a contract dated August 2.

It was then transported to Georgia and Armenia involving three Ukrainian, two Georgian and one Armenian nationals. In Yerevan, the documents for the cargo were switched. The consignor was a firm in Armenia, the recipient was a firm in Moscow.

The cargo crossed the Russian border on October 4, on October 6 it appeared in a warehouse in Armavir, and on October 7 the documents were changed again. The shipper was a firm in Ulyanovsk, and the recipient was a non-existent firm in Crimea.

The explosion occurred on October 8 on the Crimean bridge.
