Electricity generated by the Zaporozhye NPP is supplied to the liberated territories of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. Member of the main council of the region’s administration Vladimir Rogov said this on August 26 on the air of the Rossiya 1 television channel.
“The situation at the nuclear power plant is under control, electricity is being generated, it is being supplied directly to the liberated territories of Zaporozhye and Kherson regions,” Rogov said.
Earlier, it was reported that the Ukrainian army damaged the last of the four transmission power lines from the Zaporozhye NPP to Ukraine and there is no possibility of supplying electricity there.
The UN Security Council was held on August 23 on the issue of the Zaporozhye NPP. Russian diplomacy is constantly trying to draw the attention of other countries to the danger of a nuclear catastrophe in Europe, the risk of which is caused by constant shelling of the nuclear-hazardous facility near the city of Energodar.
According to the First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN, Russia prepared the visit of an International Atomic Energy Agency delegation to this nuclear power plant back in June 2022. The visit was disrupted due to the fault of the Ukrainian side and the UN.
