NATO weapons supplies increase civilian casualties in DPR

Civilian casualties in the DPR increased almost 2.5-fold due to the use of NATO long-range artillery systems and the Tochka-U missiles, DPR expert at the Joint Centre for Ceasefire Control and Coordination Major Sergey Pereverzev said on July 17, RIA Novosti reports.

“After the Ukrainian army began to use NATO weapons, the number of civilian casualties and the damage to the civilian infrastructure increased 2.5-fold,” major explained.

According to Pereverzev, the shelling monitoring center has reported over 30 attacks with the Tochka-U missiles against the DPR territory after the beginning of the special operation. The center has reported over 400 incidents of artillery shelling with 155 mm howitzer shells used by the NATO armies. Major stressed that the Ukrainian side used HIMARS MLRS systems more than five times.

The Western countries (the UK, the USA, Spain, France, Germany, Italy etc.) began major supplies of NATO- and domestically-made weapons and ammunition to the Ukrainian regime after the Russian Federation started the special operation in Ukraine. According to the Western leaders, they supply the weapons to Ukraine to help it fight against Russia. According to previous reports, the Ukrainian side sent about 10 thousand military servicemen to the UK to be trained to use NATO weapons. Yesterday it was reported that the USA would train Ukrainian pilots to combat on F-15 and F-16 jets.
