Kurginyan: Ukraine would have been torn apart without USSR and Russia

22.06.2022, Moscow.

Russia has preserved Ukrainian statehood for many years, and no “independent” Ukraine would have been possible without the USSR’s and then the Russian Federation’s position, said philosopher, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on June 20 in the broadcast Destiny published on the movement’s YouTube channel.

Kurginyan noted that many Ukrainian nationalists in the emigration revised their attitude to the Soviet Union, in which the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic was given its language, new territories, and UN member status.

However, a more radical Banderite ideology has always relied on the allegation that the genuinely sovereign Ukraine will only flourish when the “Muscovites” are totally destroyed, and when the Kremlin is ruined.

[Ukraine,] of course, would have not flourished, but it would have been annexed by those who would have historically recalled having annexed it before,” the political scientist believes. “Even if there had been no Russia, Ukraine would have been an area of conflict… between Germany, the USA, the UK, France… and Turkey. And Poland is beyond competition here.”

“Ukraine is non-existent outside of Russian history and the Russian historical substrate, and what exists is microscopic… As soon as Ukraine leaves the Russian field of meaning, this meta-historical substrate, where it can live, it enters a different substrate,” the leader of Essence of Time concluded.
