To the south of the city of Lisichansk, about 2.5 thousand Ukrainian military servicemen have been encircled, Ambassador of the LPR to Russia Rodion Miroshnik reported on May 19 on his Telegram channel.

“A new encirclement has been made closer to Lisichansk, near Gorskoye and Zolotoye [towns to the south of Lisichansk ― Rossa Primavera News Agency], where, according to observers, up to 2-2.5 Ukrainian militants have been trapped,” Miroshnik said.

He also noted that the encircled Ukrainian army servicemen have few options: “either to lay down their arms and survive or to continue resistance and die.”

In the morning of February 24, President of Russia Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a special military operation for the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine. According to the president of Russia, the special operation became necessary “to protect the people who over eight years have been subject to abuse, genocide by the Kiev regime.” Putin urged the Ukrainian military servicemen not to obey unlawful orders of the Kiev command and to lay down their arms.

Simultaneously with the beginning of the Russian army’s special operation for the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine, forces of the People’s Militia of the LPR and the DPR started an offensive to liberate the territories of the republics previously occupied by Kiev.
