Berlin neo-Nazis march in support of Ukraine

08.05.2022, Berlin.

A march of German neo-Nazis was held in Berlin in support of Ukraine, the German newspaper Tagesspiegel reported on 8 May.

The Berlin authorities have sanctioned a march of the neo-Nazi party Der III. Weg “Third Way” in support of Ukraine. “The Third Way” is known for its support of the neo-Nazi Azov regiment (organization banned in Russia).

Ukrainian women and Ukrainians can be seen among several dozen people. They marched from Ebertstrasse to Potsdamer Platz.

May 8 is officially celebrated in Germany as the Day of Liberation from Fascism. This day is not a holiday and a day off.

The act of unconditional surrender of Germany to the Soviet Union was signed twice. The first act was signed on May 7 in the presence of General Ivan Susloparov. This act took effect on May 8, 1945. Susloparov had no permission from Moscow to sign the act and the document had no full legal effect.

For this reason, the Soviet Union insisted that the act of unconditional surrender be re-signed. The re-signing, in the presence of Marshal Zhukov, took place at 10:43 p.m. local time and at 0:43 a.m. Moscow time on May 8, and the act went into effect on May 9. The celebration of the victory over fascism in Germany and Europe on May 8 is formally covered by the fig leaf of time difference and in essence is a step towards the act signed on May 7, which has no full legal force.
