Kurginyan: Ukraine no longer believes its own propaganda

06.05.2022, Moscow.

Within the first month of Russia’s special operation, Ukrainian ideologists still believed their propaganda; today the situation has fundamentally changed, political scientist, philosopher, and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on April 29 during the TV program The Great Game on Channel One.

During the first month they believed their propaganda, they really did. They were absolutely sure that they would soon approach Moscow, or at least Orel, or Belgorod… that they would break through. That Moscow would fall to its knees or that sort of thing. Now they don’t believe it anymore. (…) They already realize that things are happening in a different way,” Kurginyan argued.

According to the political analyst, this fact can be seen “by anyone, including that notorious Arestovich.” Kurginyan remarked that the conversation about the scale of military assistance from the West remains still conversation because it is not supported by real acts.

They say they have twenty of these grenade launchers there for every one of our tanks. But where are the burning tanks, where are the results? They say they still have some aviation. But it must have done something more or less convincing. It is absolutely clear that this propaganda is just such choking words, which were supposed to suppress reality rather than expose it,” Kurginyan explained.

Previously, Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s office, said that there had been large casualties in the ranks of the Ukrainian military and defeatist sentiments among the Ukrainian soldiers.
