Kurginyan explains how long the confrontation with the West will last

15.04.2022, Moscow.

Confrontation with the West will not conclude with the end of the special military operation (SMO), but it will last for several generations, said philosopher, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan in an interview to Anna Shafran on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio on April 12.

Discussing the restart of all the processes in Russia aimed at building a self-sufficient state, Kurginyan indicated that the Russian elite still hopes that West’s harsh anti-Russian policy is reversible.

“We clearly understand that all the current elite is strongly pro-Western, and even now it keeps speaking a pro-Western language. For example, that ‘things will settle down’ (with the West), everything will get back on track etc.

Even if there are currently no groups in the elite saying that we will directly integrate into the Western civilization, still there are groups saying that the process must be reversible, ‘let us minimize everything,’” Kurginyan noted.

He indicated that the confrontation with the West will only grow with the progress of the special military operation. And when the SMO is completed, the confrontation will not end. “It [the confrontation] is here for a long time, for a historically long time; in fact, it is for several generations,” the political scientist stressed.

In this regard, it is not clear who will restart the processes for the country to be able to exist in the conditions of the confrontation with the West.

“Or maybe we believe that our elite consists of a functional type of bureaucrats who can be ‘switched’ from one program to another?” Kurginyan wondered.
