LPR states there is a risk of multiple casualties due to explosion of chemicals in Rubezhnoye

The explosion of chemicals in Rubezhnoye by the Ukrainian army may lead to numerous civilian casualties, the LPR People’s Militia said in a statement on 5 April, the REGNUM news agency reported.

The LPR People’s Militia informed that Ukrainian troops retreating from Rubezhnoye started blowing up chemical industry facilities. “Thus, today by blowing up a tanker with hydrochloric acid in shop No. 1 of the Zarya production association, a cloud of the poisonous substance has spread in the factory district of the city,” the statement reads.

The LPR People’s Militia noted that more than 10 thousand people live in the area, where the explosion occurred.

At the same time, according to the LPR People’s Militia, the explosion was carried out in view of the wind, which was blowing in the direction of Kudryashovka liberated by the LPR troops.

“The terrorist actions could lead to numerous civilian casualties,” the LPR People’s Militia warned.

At the same time, the department noted that the Ukrainian media began to accuse the LPR People’s Militia units of blowing the chemicals up.

Also, the LPR People’s Militia noted that on the territory of chemical enterprises of Rubezhnoye there are another 40 thousand tons of sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and ammonia. According to the agency, an explosion of such a quantity of chemicals would destroy all life within a radius of 30 km.
