Economic and other sanctions did not prevent the Soviet Union from achieving tremendous success, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko on March 11.
Lukashenko drew attention to the fact that sanctions against Russia and Belarus were imposed illegally in violation of all international measures and treaties.
“This is just mean,” Lukashenko stressed.
The President of Belarus recalled the experience of the USSR, which throughout history developed under sanctions.
“Aleksandr Grigorievich, you are absolutely right. The Soviet Union really lived all the time under sanctions, developed and achieved tremendous success,” Putin replied.
