Military expert names the reasons for Ukraine's strange behavior

The degeneration of the Ukrainian political elite is the reason for Ukraine’s defiant behavior, military expert Igor Yurievich Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, said in a commentary for Rossa Primavera News Agency on March 7.

Korotchenko, responding to a question about what explains the Ukrainian government’s behavior when it rejects Russian humanitarian corridors and offers its own under the conditions of an almost half-encircled Kiev, said that this is not courage.

“I think – it is not courage. This is, first of all, the evolution of the Ukrainian political system. When people are detached from reality, understanding of the situation,” the military expert said.

In addition, Kiev understands that sooner or later it will find itself in a losing situation, so it is ready to sacrifice its own population in order to further blame Russia for all the violations and victims.

“Because then all these victims, violations and sufferings they plan to pin entirely on us,” Korotchenko believes.

Korotchenko is also convinced that there has been “a value and moral deformation of the modern Ukrainian political elite,” which operates according to the principle “the worse, the better.”

“This phenomenon has yet to be comprehended,” the expert noted.

To recall, negotiations between Moscow and Kiev took place on February 28 and March 3 in Belarus. The third round of negotiations was scheduled for March 7.

During the second round, an understanding was reached on the need to organize humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of Ukrainian residents and the delivery of necessary aid.

However, on March 7, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Irшna Vereshchuk said during a briefing that Kiev rejected the humanitarian corridors proposed by Russia. The Ukrainian representative said that the corridors from the Russian side were unacceptable to Kiev.
