Kurginyan: Russian army is extremely delicate with the Ukrainian population and the regular army

The Russian army is very delicate towards the population of Ukraine as well as towards ordinary military personnel of the Ukrainian army, seeking to minimize casualties, said philosopher, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on March 1 on the Russia One channel.

“My assessment of our army’s result is highly positive,” Kurginyan said. He reminded that air supremacy is the key factor in the contemporary warfare. If it is achieved, there is no regular army any longer, because it would be destroyed by air strikes.

In such a situation, hostilities could only be continued in mountains or jungle, which is impossible in Ukraine. Therefore, according to the political scientist, the last option for the Ukrainian nationalist groups is “urban guerilla,” i.e. street warfare.

However, street warfare results in unacceptable casualties both among civilians and the Russian army. “The Russian army treats the population of Ukraine and the regular Ukrainian servicemen with a great inner care, trying to minimize the overall casualties,” Kurginyan stressed.

On February 24, Russia started a military special operation for the demilitarization and denazification in Ukraine. Russian army’s major clashes take place with the units of Ukrainian nationalists, which became part of the Ukrainian army after the coup d’etat of 2014.

It is the nationalist units that were responsible for the genocide of civilians in Donbass. During the denazification operation, the Ukrainian nationalists use Ukrainian civilians as a human shield placing multiple-launch rocket systems in residential areas of cities.
