Russian Foreign Minister: Neo-Nazism targets both Russians and Jews

03.03.2022, Moscow.

Neo-Nazism in Ukraine affects not only the Russians, but also the Jews, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on March 3 in an interview to Russian and foreign media.

Answering a question asked by a journalist of the TF1 French channel, Lavrov expressed disappointment over President of France Emmanuel Macron’s statement that there is allegedly no Nazism in Ukraine, and he said that Nazism manifests itself primarily in open discrimination of both the Russians and the Jews.

“When President Macron told me, as I have already referred to this statement today, that proliferation of Nazism in Ukraine is a lie ― how can we hear anything like that from an ally? How one cannot see that the Ukrainian events have a similar effect on both the Jews and the Russians, I mean aggressive rhetoric and torch-lit parades as well as a great amount of physical abuse, including the one committed in Donbass?” Lavrov said.

Lavrov also said that Russia will complete the denazification and demilitarization operation in Ukraine.

The goals of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, according to the statement by President of Russia Vladimir Putin and Presidential Administration’s publicly announced position, are the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine and the termination of the genocide of the Russian-speaking population of Ukraine.

According to the Defense Ministry’s reports, the Russian army makes no strikes on civilian facilities, but it targets only military infrastructure, posing no threat to civilians.
