03.03.2022, Moscow.

A humanitarian catastrophe has brewed in Mariupol and is brewing in Kharkov and Sumy, said Head of the National Defense Center of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev on March 3 at an emergency meeting of the interdepartmental coordination headquarters for humanitarian response.

“The reasons for the emergency meeting are the already overdue humanitarian catastrophe in Mariupol, a city with a population of half a million,” Mizintsev said.

He noted that a similar situation is developing in Kiev, whose population is about three million people, in Kharkov with a population of up to 1.5 million people, in Sumy with a population of up to 300 thousand people. Also, a difficult situation is observed in a number of other cities of Ukraine.

According to Mizintsev, “a catastrophic state of affairs is developing almost throughout the entire territory of Ukraine.”

Since February 24, a Russian special military operation has been underway to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine. The Russian Army is point-by-point destroying military facilities and forces of the Ukrainian Army with high-precision weapons

On March 3, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that it had delivered 30 tons of humanitarian cargo to the residents of Ukraine in the border areas. In total, 280 tons of Russian humanitarian aid was sent to Ukraine.
