It is not Russia, but NATO and Ukraine who are talking about the nuclear weapon, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with Russian and foreign media on March 3.
Lavrov noted that the conditions for the use of nuclear weapons are described in Russia’s military doctrine. He stressed that it does not prescribe escalation for the sake of escalation, which is what the West is trying to accuse Russia of.
“But talk about nuclear war is now underway. I ask you to read very carefully the statements that have been made and at the personalities who have made those statements,” Lavrov said.
He pointed out that first NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and then Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this.
