As of 10:00 a.m. on March 2, 1502 Ukrainian military targets have been disabled during the operation.

Among them: 51 Ukrainian army’s command posts and communications center, 38 S-300, Buk M-1 and Osa air defense missile systems, and 51 radar stations.

Destroyed:

47 aircraft on the ground and 11 aircraft in the air,

472 tanks and other armored combat vehicles,

62 multiple rocket launchers,

206 field artillery guns and mortars,

336 pieces of special military vehicle equipment,

46 unmanned aerial vehicles.

Kiev direction

The technological facilities of the SBU and the 72nd Main Center for Psychological Operations in Kiev were hit with high-precision weapons. The broadcasting equipment of the television tower was disabled.

Kharkov direction

A Russian convoy entered the Balakleya area southeast of Kharkov.

An air strike was launched overnight against a facility near Kharkov. Judging by the large explosion, the target was an ammunition depot in Malinovka.

Foreign students are being evacuated from Kharkov.

According to local sources, the Ukrainian army and the Azov nationalist battalion (organization banned in Russia) have equipped positions in the multi-story buildings along the highway in Kharkov. The Ukrainian army periodically fired single shells at the city.

Yesterday, a Grad MLRS opened fire from the Korotich village west of the city. Authorities reportedly blocked all exits from the city, except the southern (Zmeev) and southwestern (Merefa) ones.

In Kharkov, subway tunnels have been allowed to be used for underground crossings.

Zaporizhzhye direction

An air defense system was operating in the vicinity of Melitopol.

Control was established over the settlements of Tokmak and Vasilievka, where Ukrainian servicemen refused to resist and voluntarily laid down their arms. Ukrainian servicemen will return to their families after signing receipts saying they refuse to take part in hostilities.

South direction

There was an explosion and fires broke out near Chernobaevka and Kherson airport.

Russian units of the Armed Forces took full control of the regional center of Kherson. Civilian infrastructure, life support facilities for the population and urban transport operate in daily mode.

Residents are reporting the sounds of explosions and air raid alarms in Voznesensk, north of Nikolaev. It is assumed that combat helicopters seen earlier near the city were headed there.

Air-raid sirens are sounded in Odessa.

Liberation of the LPR and DPR.

A group of DPR troops expanded their advance and established control over Kalinovka, Lebedinskoe, Pionerskoe, Karl Marx, Nikolaevka, and Osipenko settlements.

Allied forces took Volnovakha and finally consolidated their position on the H20 Mariupol-Volnovakha-Donetsk highway.

In Lisichansk (LPR under the Ukrainian army’s control), the TV tower was hit.

DЗR spokesman Eduard Basurin said that two servicemen were killed and several were taken prisoner yesterday while repelling an attempted breakthrough by the Ukrainian military on the Gorlovka direction (a video distributed by Ukrainian sources shows 13 reservists of the 95th Brigade being taken prisoner).

There are reports of the liberation of Melekino.

Sparta units and the 100th Brigade of the DPR National Front continue to clean Volnovakha. During the assault, the Spartans clashed with the nationalist battalion Donbass. The result of the battle was that a platoon of the national battalion was eliminated, and two militants were taken prisoners.

DPR troops entered the outskirts of Mariupol. Assault squads are moving at once from the east and north. Combat is underway, the DPR units are consolidating their positions. Much of the city has been left without heating, light, water and communications. The city is on the brink of a humanitarian disaster.

The DPR People’s Militia stated that it reserves the right to retaliate against the inhumane treatment of captured DPR servicemen.

Situation in the republics

On March 1 and 2, four civilians were killed and 30 more wounded as a result of the shelling. Also, 125 buildings, 33 infrastructure facilities and 25 vehicles were damaged.

The enemy uses Tochka-U tactical missile systems to destroy civilian infrastructure. During the day, the anti-aircraft defense means of the DNR People’s Militia destroyed two Ukrainian missiles, the remains of which fell in the districts of Dokuchaevsk and Zugres.

Donetsk

A gas pipe was damaged and four houses were destroyed in Kirovsky district of Donetsk. In the Kievsky district, Ukrainian shells flew into the territory of the Tochmash plant. About two dozen houses were damaged in Kuybyshevskiy district. The Dolphin sports complex, city hospital No. 21 and school No. 71 were also hit by shelling.

A civilian was wounded by a sniper near Oleksandrivka, which is already the 11th case of sniper fire on civilians since the beginning of 2022.

Gorlovka

The enemy used 120mm mortars in the direction of Chigiri – Gorlovka (village of Shacht 6/7).

Dokuchayevsk

The 42nd State Fire and Rescue Unit located in Dokuchayevsk was damaged by shelling on the evening of March 1 by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Employees of the unit took shelter, there were no dead or injured.

Lugansk

The enemy used 120mm mortars on the direction of Novoluganskoye – Golmovskiy.

Political situation

The State Duma introduced amendments to punish those who spread fakes about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces with up to 15 years in prison.

The USA closes its airspace to all Russian aircraft. The US company Boeing announced that it was suspending the supply of spare parts and maintenance services for its aircraft to Russian airlines.

The EU disconnected VTB, Rossiya and Otkrytie banks, as well as Novikombank, Promsvyazbank, Sovcombank and VEB.RF from SWIFT.

The spot price of gas in Europe continues to grow sharply – already by 57% against the closing level of Tuesday (March 1). Ukraine

Border guards in Lvov Region have been given a command not to allow men of conscription age into Poland.
