DPR People's Militia confirms the deaths of servicemen in the battle near Gorlovka

An official spokesman of the People’s Militia of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Eduard Basurin confirmed the death of two servicemen of the DPR People’s Militia defending Gorlovka in a battle with superior Ukrainian forces during a briefing on March 2.

“On March 1, fighters of the 1st Battalion of the 95th Ukrainian army’s Brigade with forces up to a company under cover of artillery fire attempted to capture our positions near Bessarabka. In the course of the battle the enemy suffered losses and was forced to retreat, four militants were killed and three were wounded,” said Basurin.

The representative said that two servicemen of the People’s Militia were killed during the battle with superior enemy forces. The Ukrainian military managed to capture several soldiers of the DPR People’s Militia.

“We appeal to the command of the 95th Brigade in case of inhumane treatment of prisoners, the People’s Militia reserves the right to take all measures to retaliate,” Eduard Basurin stressed.

The officer stressed that the surrendered Ukrainian soldiers are guaranteed life, food and medical care on the territory of the DPR.

Since February 24, the Russian Armed Forces are conducting a special military operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine. Also, the Russian army is supporting the detachments of the People’s Militia of the republics of Donbass to liberate the territories of the republics from the occupation troops of Ukraine.
